The chapel is set in the Old Town. Founded in 1391 the original chapel (built between 1391 and 1394) served as a place for sermons in Czech language. One of the most famous preachers who spoke in the chapel is Jan Hus. It was also a space used by the preachers of the Hussite movement.
In 1786 the chapel (at that time gradually becoming a ruin and serving for many different purposes) was taken down. It was rebuilt again in the 1st half of the 1950s as a Hussite movement memorial.
The interior of the chapel can nowadays host different events which are appropriate for the space.
