Daniel Bulatkin is a new face on the Czech jazz scene. He was born in 1999 in Prague, where he currently studies high school. When he was 15 years old, he won 3rd place in the prestigious solo piano improvisation competition ‘Pianist of the Year 2015’ organised by the company ‘Petrof’.
He defended his 3rd place in the following year of the competition, which was won by Vít Křišťan. He is a private student of many recognised pianists in the Czech Republic and abroad (Omer Klein, Brian Charette, Vojtěch Eckert, Jiří Levíček etc.) and he also perfects his craft on several workshops (among others with the bebop legend George Cables).
