What better way to welcome the holidays and summer than with a traditional festival of joy? The sixteenth year of the Ratha Yatra, or festival of decorated chariots, will take place on Sunday, July 2 in Prague. At noon, we leave with the parade, as always, from Republic Square. An accompanying cultural program will begin there at 3 p.m. On Sunday, July 2, we start with a parade that starts at noon from Republic Square.

After the auspicious opening ceremony, the magnificent car will be driven through the streets of Prague amid thunderous singing and musical accompaniment. This car does not have an engine, but two long ropes, which are pulled by all participants and passers-by. The real drive in his figure skating is our cooperation and togetherness. Anyone who pulls on the rope even for a while gets an immeasurable benefit!

The route will lead through the historic center - through Celetná Street to the Old Town Square, then through Ovocný trh and Na Příkopě Street to Wenceslas Square, and then back to Republic Square, where a rich cultural program will begin on stage from 3 p.m.

You can look forward to many musical performances, performances by dancers of the traditional temple dance Bharata Natyam and wise words. Thousands of portions of delicious Indian food will be given away for free in the adjacent festival town. You can also buy various goodies and refreshments at other stands. There will also be sales of beautiful Indian clothing, souvenirs, incense sticks, home accessories and great gifts.

Children will surely be impressed by the corner with various activities and creations, where they can win and their parents can relax.

The goal of the festival is to celebrate what unites us, to stop in a hectic time, to experience joyful uplifting moments in the company of like-minded people regardless of age, race, status or creed.

The organizers want to introduce this amazing ancient culture of India to as many people as possible. Everyone can be inspired by her wisdom, peacefulness, color and joy. It's amazing that every year is better and better - so come pull together and see for yourself that it's true!
