For 30 years, evening organ concerts at the Church of St. Francis near Charles Bridge have been an integral part of cultural life in the Old Town.

The church itself is a unique Baroque masterpiece, with a restored interior that provides a stunning backdrop for listening to the oldest playing organ in Prague.

Concerts are held every day from Tuesday to Sunday at 7 pm from April 11 to November 4, 2023. In November and December, concerts are held every Friday and Saturday.

Famous Organ Concerts are designed as one-hour programs, featuring compositions by world-famous masters of the Baroque and Classical periods, as well as regular performances of music by Czech composers. The concerts are accessible to listeners, but artistically valuable, with a rich dramaturgy and a combination of the Baroque sound of the organ with solo instruments or vocals. Soloists from our leading opera stages and orchestras, as well as professors from the Academy of Performing Arts and the Prague Conservatory, offer an experience worth experiencing here.

In the Church of St. Francis, you will find a unique Baroque organ from 1702, which is the second oldest in Prague and the oldest still playing. Many personalities have played on this famous, now sensitively restored instrument, including W. A. Mozart, A. Dvořák, and J. F. N. Seger, among others. The organ is located in the front right part of the church on the balcony, providing an excellent acoustic and visual experience.
