For the fifth time, the Serial Killer Festival will pin Brno to the cinema seats and present a unique selection of contemporary series on the big screen. Don’t miss it from 20 to 25 September.

The fifth season of the Serial Killer international festival of TV and web series will offer a programme full of new titles and premieres from all over the world and the Czech Republic. After a hot summer, viewers will be cooled down by a breeze from the North. This year’s main focus will be on production from Sweden, which has become a European series superpower. In addition to a collection of the most interesting Swedish series from recent years, we have included one older legend alongside the new releases, which, like the Danish-Swedish The Bridge, has been sold to countries all over the world, as has the British remake.

A selection of this year’s best productions from Central and Eastern Europe will be presented to the audience in the main competition. A full cross-section of contemporary European work will be presented in non-competitive sections as part of the International Panorama. There will also be a specific web series format or curatorial sections prepared by our dramaturgy team. These will explore themes that drive society and the work of (not only) young people.

The heart of the festival remains the Scala Cinema. Other programmes will take place at the Bolek Polívka Theatre and the Orlí Theatre. In addition to the contemporary series tasting, the audience can look forward to interesting discussions with guests from among the creators and actors themselves. The city centre will also be dancing and entertained by an accompanying programme full of lectures, debates, concerts and parties.

For those who want to secure a seat in the theatre, there is an accreditation available in advance. This will allow the audience to attend all screenings, including the premiere screenings and the accompanying discussions, for CZK 350. Individual tickets will be available at the venue for 80 CZK.
