On this occasion, the Prague Symphony Orchestra’s Artist in Residence, José Cura, will take on the roles of conductor, choirmaster and composer. The foremost Czech mezzo-soprano Dagmar Pecková has been invited to collaborate. Apart from compositions by two of Cura’s favourite composers, Sergei Rachmaninov and Ottorino Respighi, he will also conduct his own Magnificat, composed long before he became well-known. Let’s remind ourselves that in 2001 Mr. Cura recorded Rachmaninov’s mo­numental symphony to great acclaim.

The concerts are held under the auspices of the Embassy of Argentina in the Czech Republic.
