The theme of the cycle Introspection is Petra’s personal world. Although she depicts objects near to her person or uses a self-portrait, it is not a realistic representation of a reality. The objects and self-portrait are shown shifting to the level of internal perception and experience of the moment. Each personal world is made up of experiences, memories, thoughts, or perceptions of the outside world. All these elements form our person, our selves. The author is aware of herself and her defines the outside world. She is fascinated by planes of time, which discourages the processing experiences of childhood, the present moment or projections of the future. These layers of time trying to blend in visually form the image. The selected paintings from the series focus on the landscape, figure or artifact link to the author 's childhood.

Each viewer understands the paintings Despite the fact the authors personal experiences are rooted in the work. This clarity is not in the specific detection of ideas and experience of the author alone, but in adapting its representation on their own experience of the viewer. It is based on their own feelings, experiences and expertise with associative processes on how they read the work. Thus the paintings become understandable to the viewer on a personal level and enable him to reminisce on their experiences.
