On November 29, at Brno's Sono Music Club, the audience will witness a unique concert marathon called "The Crimson Marathon." This project was created with the consent of King Crimson founder Robert Fripp, exclusively for the Czech festival Prague Music Performance. The project aims to present the individual members of King Crimson in their own projects as well as in the work of this legendary group. The group tu:NER will perform at the autumn marathon (Trey Gunn, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter), StickMen (Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter), and the David Cross Band. The year 2023 marks the anniversary of two essential albums. While the breakthrough album "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" was released fifty years ago, the group's last studio album, "Power To Believe," was released twenty years ago. The marathon will feature a complete performance of the album "Larks' Tongues in Aspic," performed by the David Cross Band. VIP tickets include a screening of Tobi Amias's new documentary, "In the Court of the Crimson King: King Crimson at 50," in the Czech premiere, and a signed first Czech edition of columnist Sid Smith's book, "In The Court Of King Crimson," which was published on the occasion of King Crimson's 50th Anniversary. The long-awaited book on the history of one of the most important groups in the history of rock music includes interviews with all members of the group, analyses of individual songs, complete studio work, and extensive annotations for King Crimson concerts. King Crimson was founded by Robert Fripp in 1968, and only a year later, the band performed alongside the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park. Jimi Hendrix soon called King Crimson "the best band in the world." Their innovative approach to music inspired countless world music icons (Nick Cave, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Porcupine Tree, Tool, Dream Theater, etc.), and their debut album, "In the Court of the Crimson King," is still considered one of the most important albums in the development of rock music.
