Gallery U MLOKA is a place of informal meetings and presentation of mainly visual but also musical and literary art activities of young people. Gallery U MLOKA was found in 1998 as a place opened for contemporary arts. It seats in the underground space of a historical building, close to the main square in the centre of Olomouc (CZ). The aim of Gallery U MLOKA is to open P-centrum building to wider public. Thanks to the gallery the users of specialised services do not have to feel stigmatised by entering the building. To run the gallery means more than just to display pictures on the wall. We find the gallery to be the centre of local community, which provides educational and leisure activities. Education through art is very potential to be a good background for personal and social education and it can be very efficient in breaking the barriers and improving the tolerance to diversity.
