Even though Ara Güler (*1928) created an impressive gallery of portraits of well-known artists and his coevals during his long career as a photographer, the city of his heart, Istanbul, will always remain his muse. Güler is able to uniquely capture both the rush of the city and the hidden everyday life of Bospor-based metropolis’ inhabitants. With his Leica he’s been capturing the atmosphere-rich compositions of the city ever since the fifties.

At the exhibition in Leica Gallery Prague, any visitor will have the opportunity to look into both directions of work of this icon of world photography.
