Are media mere information channels that mediate content or do they actively transform the ways in which we perceive the transmitted information and how we understand it? Has PowerPoint become a new cognitive scheme and tweeting a new language figure? Where does the medium start and man end?

Case studies on the philosophy of media will be presented by:

BERND HERZOGENRATH, media philosopher (Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main): “Media Philosophy || Practical Aesthetics” 

VÁCLAV JANOŠČÍK, art theorist (Academy of Fine Arts in Prague/FAMU)

The discussion will be held in English.

The 30-minute presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion with the viewers (moderated by Andrea Průchová / Fresh Eye).
