Milli Janatková - CD launch

Milli Janatková - CD launch

New CD launch of a multi talented musician and visual artist Milli Janatková´s „Homage To My Roots“ project. Milli and other excellent musicians perform songs of her great-aunt Vera P. Kistler who moved to the USA as a „war bride“ after the Second World War and there became a successful composer and writer. Her exciting life story was one of the inspirations to create such interesting project. The songs based on jazz, chanson, classical and folk a capella music and wonderful musicians´ interplay will catch you by playful rhythms and impressive melodies. The project was very successfully supported by public crowd funding, The State Cultural Fund of Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Mělník Town, The South Czech Region Governor and Unijazz. Another goal is the creation and publication of paintings, a book and public cultural and educational events. Be a part of the story which is a journey to courage, hope and respect. New „To My Roots“ CD is interconnected with a topic of Milli´s successful „Transformation“ CD debut which has been honored in 2014 and 2016 with eight nominations for The Independent Music Awards, USA and two nominations for the Czech Tais Awards. The „Roots“ are also interlinked with the other Milli Janatkova´s „Quiet, please!“ project based on the support of trust and good health. Milli Janatkova (vocal, percussion, arrangement), Marek Novotny (piano, arrangement), Petr Tichy (double bass),Tomas Vokurka (drums) and guests: Michal Wróblewski (bass clarinet, sopran saxophone), Vojtěch Nýdl (clarinet, bass clarinet) and Robert Fischmann (flute)
