MarZ is a band formed around core duo Markéta Zdeňková (singer-songwriter and guitarist) and Štěpán Janoušek (trombone player and singer). Markéta’s songs cross genre borders: folk-like melodies, combined with jazz harmonies with the full band get an almost rock feel. The stories told in the songs vary from deep ancestral heritage to cheerful problems with neighbors. The band released their eponymous album in March 2020.
