Řím, 1976. Valeriovi (Mattia Garaci) je deset let a má velmi bujnou fantazii. Dětství se mu obrátí naruby, když se stane součástí atentátu spáchaného teroristickou skupinou na jeho otce Alfonsa (Pierfrancesco Favino). Od této chvíle život celé rodiny dramaticky poznamená strach a pocit zranitelnosti. Jenže právě v těchto těžkých dnech se Valerio seznamuje s Christianem...
