Pragovka Gallery will present the latest works by Lucie Tallová and her generous site-specific installation, created specifically for the Entry exhibition space.


Lucie Tallová's solo exhibition entitled “Looking Through” will present Pragovka Gallery visitors with the latest works by the author and a generous site-specific installation created specifically for the Entry exhibition space. The project responds to the industrial character and architecture of the gallery. The exhibition “Looking Through” will be curated by Lucia Miklošková.

Locket:

Lucia Tallová (* 1985) is a well-established young generation author on the Slovak scene, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, Ivan Csudaia's studio, winner of several important awards (JP Morgan Selection - Paris Photo 2019, Tatra Banka Foundation Art Award 2016, VUB Painting of the Year) 2013, Strabag Artaward International 2010).

The author has long been working with the motif of the archive and collection. The main theme is memory, storage and fading of memories and their transformation or manipulation in the context of time. The classic medium of painting is connected with spatial installations, object creation and photography. It seeks to link between the work in progress and the material. The theme of the archive refers to the collection of old photographs, albums, postcards, books, porcelain, stones, various bizarre objects and furniture. They become work material from which new stories are created, combining reality and fiction. Working with space and architecture plays an important role in Lucie Tallová's work.

SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

Our gallery also offers educational programs for schools in the form of guided tours and workshops.

Students can create unconventional objects from urban waste according to their own imagination. By recycling materials that we can find all around (metals, wood, paper, textiles and plastic), they can develop their imagination and create their own sculptures. We will transform waste into original art. The workshop is designed for the second level of primary and secondary schools, duration 45 min.
