Guitar player and songwriter, Jiří Šimek, will launch his debut album, Electric Madness at Jazz Dock. The album was released by the progressive label Amplión Records with Šimek’s dynamic quintet consisting of two drummers, Dan Šoltis and Roman Vicha, bass player Rastislav Uhrík and pianist Martin Brunner, giving enlightened performances on his Wurlitzer and Moog. Šimek's clever and intriguing original compositions oscillate on the borders of jazz, funk, and fusion. The band also offers surprisingly artful adaptations of songs by John Scofield, Charlie Hunter and Nirvana.
