The exhibition is called Seborea bella, it is a paradoxical contradiction that lends itself to the polarizing vibe and dynamics of Kristýna Šormová. Seborea as a skin disease is probably far to beautify. Yet, from a broader horizon of perception, it can be viewed differently, or it can produce emotions, which in itself are evaluated in creation of itself. Seborea talks about touch and pain, about a surface that changes its natural appearance. It causes reactions. Just as a person reacts to other powerful stimuli, whether they are beautiful (eg starry sky) or not (eg smog) in terms of convention. Through the emotional filter, the author deconstructs the odd situation on the image area. Somewhat underline the two-level dimension of the painting and highlight the drawing moments of its structure, else break the painting into a three-dimensional illusion and work with the views of the imaginary plane behind the surface. She is a fascinated discoverer who, at first, only vaguely suspects what it really is. Kristyna Šormová's paintings remind on one hand the geological or meteorological situation, on the other hand the musical reflection or the poetic interpretation. Rolling matter is stopped here in the name of the fragility of temporary but intense experience. The boundaries between figuration and abstraction are dissolved in favor of the power of the moment.

Kristýna Šormová (born in 1985 in Příbram) graduated from the Prague Academy of Fine Arts (Painting studio II, doc. Vladimír Skrepl) in the year 2006-2012. In 2009, she underwent internships at the guest professor's studio (Jan Merta). In 2010 she studied at the Belas artes da Universidade in Porto, Porto, and in 2011 at the Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. She received third place in the 6th year of the Critics Award for Young Overlay Painting in 2013. She has been exhibiting regularly since 2010. Last time we were able to meet her at Prague Bezčasí (Galerie Prám, 2017) and together with Kateřina Štenclová at the exhibition "Forgiving Worlds" (Gallery of Fine Arts in Hodonín, 2018).
