A major goodbye awaits us in Pragovka. As we were simultaneously opening we will be closing. Thursday, October 11th will witness three closings of exhibitions and guided tours of all the exhibitions – both the ones ending and the ones continuing – in the framework of Korzo Pragovka. Aside from the closings, a workshop for children is planned as well as a part of the mini-festival of JAMU+ in Pragovka´s first bay.

The authors are not just united by friendship. They seek to produce a non-traditional way of narration that freely uses elements of cinematographic language, combines them with the visual quality of the simple documentary recording and brings the whole story to its end by using other media than just film or video-recording: objects or photography. Last but not least the three authors share an interest in the way women perceive the world, interpret emotions or visions. The theme of the exhibition “ALRIGHT, ALMOST CERTAINLY” is the process of searching for a firm anchoring in one´s own life.

Martin Herold / Six Windows

Martin Herold´s project SIX WINDOWS focuses on the iconography of a window including its iconological connotations. Here the window is conceived as an ambiguous narrative the interpretation of which may reach from a description of the seen (the model) to meta-explanation (the window at the world). “An endeavour to create a certain imaginative space” is substantial. The window functions as a frame for what can be seen while the gaze is lead both directions, outside from and into an imaginary interior. The polarity of inside and outside is a stable perceptual convention which Herold submits to actualization from the viewpoint of the immediate present. He collects the window motifs in his close surroundings so he works with a concrete and not overtaken objective material (models).

Three women, three views, three linguistic levels of perception. Eroticon is an exaggerated show in all seriousness.

The exhibition confronts three artists and their relationship to eroticism and sex through images and/or eroticism of everyday objects. They also but not exclusively play with ugliness, beauty, voyeurism, fetishism, fantasy and queer aspects of an erotic image. For this exhibition the selected objects, photographs, collages, and installations, which can be perceived as erotic, just as they can be perceived completely asexually. They do not know what you like but that does not prevent you from having new experiences.

The big difference in the concept of eroticism is evidence of how it is impossible to objectify some of the themes. The scale of the erotic is vast. We all have our own vision.
