After her son's death, Victoria starts a new life as a doctor in small, snowy Norwegian town. Early one winter morning, a young man is found dead in the snow.

Victoria points out that the circumstances surrounding the death are unclear, but the police officer figures that the dead teenager must have been hit by the snow plow and then buried under the snow. The stories of the two deaths become intertwined as Victoria tries to unravel the mystery of Darjosh, the young man found dead in the snow.
