Hudební léto Kuks 2016 - koncert Martinů Voices
The Kuks Music Summer (Hudební léto Kuks) Festival is an international music festival dedicated to classical music, taking part in the Trinity Church in Kuks. At the 7th Festival, taking part from June 25th to August 20th, 2016, will again appear a number of excellent performers. In the past years, there appeared the violinists Ivan Ženatý, Václav Hudeček, Josef Špaček and Gabriela Demeterová, the bass-baritone Adam Plachetka, the countertenor David Erler, the sopranos Michiyo Keiko, Natalia Rubiś, Jana Jonášová and Kateřina Kněžíková, the cellist Jiří Bárta, the horn player Radek Baborák, the trumpet player Miroslav Kejmar, the harpist Jana Boušková, the organists Jaroslav Tůma and Aleš Bárta, the harpsichord players Vojtěch Spurný and Barbara Maria Willi, the oboe player Vilém Veverka, the guitar player Pavel Steidl, the ensembles Schola Gregoriana Pragensis, Collegium 1704, Ensemble Inégal, Collegium Marianum, Škampa Quartet, the Czech boy choir Boni pueri, and others. The festival programmes include modern premieres of the music from the Kuks collection, founded in the late 18th century by the Brothers Hospitallers. The festival also supports contemporary music, by asking composers to write special works, which are given here their world premieres. These works are inspired by the Sporck arias.
